What We Hold Ourselves To
IN N’ OUT Market is a single independent site at 743 Century Ave N in Maplewood, Minnesota, operated by JRD Companies. We sell fuel, tobacco and nicotine products, lottery, food prepared on site, and car washes — five separately regulated things under one roof. These are the standards we run to.
Age-Restricted Sales
We card every customer who appears under 30 for tobacco and nicotine products and refuse the sale without valid, unexpired government photo ID showing an age of 21 or older, per the federal Tobacco 21 law and Minnesota Statutes Chapter 461. Lottery sales require 18 or older. Every associate completes documented age-verification training before their first solo shift and is retrained annually, and we participate in compliance checks by the City of Maplewood and Ramsey County. Full policy: Age-Restricted Sales.
Food Safety
Our fresh-food operation is licensed and inspected under the Minnesota Food Code (Minnesota Rules Chapter 4626). At least one certified food protection manager is on staff, all food handlers hold current certification, hot and cold holding temperatures are logged on every shift, and allergen information for prepared items is available at the counter on request. Inspection reports are public record and a current copy is posted in store.
Fuel, Weights & Measures
Our dispensers are inspected and sealed by the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Weights and Measures Division. Posted prices include all taxes, octane ratings are certified to the grade posted on the dispenser, and our underground storage tanks are monitored continuously and registered with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency under Minnesota Rules Chapter 7150. If you believe a dispenser shortchanged you on volume or price, tell the cashier immediately — we will pull the transaction and make it right, and you may also file directly with the Department of Commerce.
Payments, Card Security & Skimmers
Card payments in store and at the pump are processed through PCI DSS validated providers. We never store your full card number, expiration or CVV on our systems, and our terminals are EMV chip-enabled. Every dispenser and every card reader is inspected on a documented schedule for tampering and skimming devices, with tamper-evident security seals whose serial numbers are logged. If a seal is broken or a reader looks wrong, do not swipe — tell the cashier.
Reporting a vulnerability. If you find a security issue in this website, our Rewards app or our APIs, email [email protected] with enough detail to reproduce it. We will acknowledge within five business days. Please give us a reasonable window to fix it before disclosing publicly, do not access or modify data that is not yours, and do not run denial-of-service or automated scanning against production. We will not pursue legal action against good-faith research that follows those rules. Machine-readable contact: /.well-known/security.txt.
Accessibility
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA on this website and the Rewards app, and we meet the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design in the store, including accessible parking, an accessible route to the entrance and restroom, and refueling assistance at the pump on request during staffed hours. Details, known gaps and a feedback form: Accessibility Statement.
Employment Compliance
We are an equal opportunity employer. Every posting carries a good-faith pay range under Minnesota Statutes § 181.173. Employees accrue Earned Sick and Safe Time from their first hour, receive a written wage-theft notice at hire under Minnesota Statutes § 181.032, are covered by Minnesota Paid Leave and workers’ compensation, and get reasonable accommodations for disability, pregnancy and lactation. We do not ask about criminal history on applications. Full notices: Employment Compliance.
Environmental
Car wash wash-water is discharged to the sanitary sewer under our municipal permit, not to the storm drain, and our reclaim system reduces fresh-water draw per vehicle. Used oil, oil filters, batteries and fluorescent lamps are handled as regulated waste through licensed haulers. Underground fuel storage tanks are leak-monitored continuously with records retained as required by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
